Kitchen Splashbacks
No matter what look you are going for, the right kitchen splashback (sometimes known as a backsplash) will not only serve a useful purpose, but will also help to compliment and focus the style of your kitchen. Kitchen splashbacks are now widely used – particularly on wall areas behind cooker surfaces – to protect the wall from any resulting splashes from oil or food that you might be cooking. Splashbacks are a great alternative to tiles and now come in many different colours, materials and sizes to complete your colour scheme.
Many kitchen splashbacks are made from glass, making them both water and stain resistant, and very easy to clean and maintain. Nowadays, there are a great many ranges and colour effects to choose from, like for instance ‘Galaxy Glitter’ – with bold black colouring and subtle sparkles, or ‘Popsicle’ for a terrific retro-pink effect. Good-quality items are made using UV-stable technology, so you can rest assured that your cherry-red kitchen feature won’t lose its impact.
Easy to install, glass kitchen splashbacks with normally feature a self-adhesive backing, and are typically made from toughened glass so you can be sure that they will be able to withstand significant amounts of heat from your cooker, and will be hardy enough to last a good many years of use.
For a really stunning visual effect, why not combine your splashback with matching tiles allowing you to really go to town and be more creative with your kitchen designs. Of course, if you don’t want your kitchen splashback to be a feature in your design, that’s not a problem. There are a wide range of subtle and neutral colours available such as ‘Whisper’ clear glass, and ‘Liquorice’ black to help give more flexibility when choosing your colour scheme.
Although glass splashbacks can be a great alternative to using tiles, it’s entirely possible to create a kitchen splashback using tiles as your material. Since tiles come in many different shapes, sizes, colours and materials, you can be assured to have a wide selection to choose from whether you prefer porcelain, ceramic, marble, glass, travertine, or natural stone.
